Finally, a Pole I Love

For years, I felt like the pole industry didn’t have a pole manufacturer that genuinely cared about improving the quality of their product. As the industry grew, the way we used poles changed. We needed to know that we wouldn’t get cut by warped seams and that we were working with something stable. We needed to be able to change from spin to static without tools and little parts that can get lost of break off. And, we needed to be able to get poles up and down safely without a team of people.

Plus, it became more apparent that the most common pole materials were problematic. The coating on a pole should not wear off, change textures, and put people in direct contact with irritants. I am one of the many people who suffer (sometimes) severe rashes from nickel exposure. I know people who have it worse than I do; I’ve seen them blister, scab, and end up with cracked hands from dancing on chrome. Shoddy pole materials are not suitable for dancers, and it’s not good for studio business if people are getting rashy from class. Yet, most poles in the world contain nickel.

Even with these known problems, design upgrades were slow, and suggestions that would improve the utility and safety of poles rarely led to improvements. I mean, once I was on a multi-piece pole that snapped in half at the seam while I was on the top half, on spin mode. It’s nice to know that things like that are improbable.

I am proud to announce that I am an official brand ambassador for a pole company that I love, Lupit Pole.

I only agreed to this position because I believe in the product. Here’s why:

THE PEOPLE: The humans who run Lupit are lovely. They are a small business that genuinely cares about the construction of their product.

RESPONSIVENESS: Lupit takes action.  We let Lupit know that the old static lock mechanism was too easy to unlock, and they came back with new, much-improved prototypes in what felt like days.

INSTALL/REMOVAL: Taking Lupit poles up and down is EASY. We have a permanent mount on the ceiling, and we use the rolling install tool to move the base quickly-- this means I can have floor space AND a secure pole.

SKIN SAFETY: Their original models are stainless steel, but they have developed a NICKEL-FREE chrome. I had sworn myself to stainless steel because of my nickel allergy, but chrome is known to be sticker so, yay!

SAFETY: I feel safe on Lupit, and I have played hard with it.
